Dot NAME Domains

Started in 2001, the Dot NAME universal top-level extension is the only one meant for personal web pages only. These domains can include personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other designations people are popular by. Initially, just third-level registrations were allowed, so if you desired to acquire john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Already taken third-level names remained active.

Through our firm, you can reserve your dot NAME domain for an interval between 1 and 10 years. You will have the opportunity to alter the WHOIS contact information, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already purchased domain to our firm if you obtain its EPP transfer key from the current registration provider and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been completed. There are no special stipulations on who can obtain a dot NAME domain name, but in order to keep the goal behind its creation alive, the .NAME Registry may check who the Registrant is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration might be challenged.

The dot NAME generic top-level domain extension is one of the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no further cost. In this way, your .NAME domain will be recognized in your country or region with the accurate spelling in your native language.
